A big priority with Kingpin's camp is to capture Purple Man's kids in order to add their power to their father's. The Thunderbolts grab them quite easily but, just as they are about to leave, they are opposed by the Champions.

The gigantic Abomination causes the Champions to retreat with some of the kids still in Thunderbolts control.

Because Kingpin's focus has changed based on the incidents of last issue, it is in his interest to sow chaos in New York - more so than he has already done. In line with this, he unleashes the Purple Man.

Outside, in New York, the physical battle escalates with the heroes, Otto's monsters, and the Thunderbolts in the melee.

Going to Matt Murdock's apartment, the Kingpin mistakes Matt's brother, Mike, for Matt, and kills him.

The result is that the world will think that Matt Murdock is dead - and Daredevil is stuck with no alter ego. I'm sure Matt can disguise himself as something else but he loses the big bucks he can earn as a lawyer.
