Forever People 11

When I was growing up reading comicbooks Kirby was not an artist that I sought out. So I should not be one to complain that this issue is the last issue of the Forever People. But now that I'm older I have changed my mind about Kirby and there is a very real regret that this series did not last longer.
This issue begins with the Forever People under in Trixie Magruder's house.

Devilance is yet another one of Darkseid's agents. However Devilance is not a rampaging monster nor is he a casual killer. After wiping the floor with the Forever People he is interrupted by the police. But Devilance does not harm the cops but chooses to escape instead.

With such a powerful foe now would be a good time for the Forever People to summon Infinity Man, but they can't. After being exiled by Darkseid, Infinity Man is lost.

On the plus side, in Infinity Man's area of exile is a very beautiful planet.

Devilance continues to track the Forever People. Here he is rupturing the ground while the team hides from him.

Mark Moonrider decides to challenge the pursuer with an impressive blast.

Even more impressive, when Devilance attacks Moonrider melts the ground under his feet.

This gives the Forever People time to escape.
The Forever People materialize in an island in the Pacific and Devilance follows almost instantaneously. The mother box is used to deprive Devilance of his weapon.

Mark Moonrider is really giving a good showing this issue. He comes in close to give Devilance a good old-fashioned punch.

Big Bear's attempt not so successful.

Just as Devilance is about to take out Big Bear, Serifan launches into action.

The Forever People started out by being intimidated by this hunter but he kept pressuring them so they discovered that they could take him on after all. Our peace-loving team refuses to kill Devilance so they just move away.
Devilance though, is persistent.

It is mother box who takes action by making signs that the summoning ritual for Infinity Man must be undertaken. They do it.

Success!

The battle is joined and there is a struggle for the lance.

It culminates in a massive explosion.

As the issue ends the Forever People survive, but not on our world, on that beautiful world that Infinity Man was exiled to.

And Infinity Man? Did he survive the explosion? That remains a mystery.
Goodbye Forever People!
