Teen Titans 1

The first issue of the New Teen Titans starts with a beautiful splash page.

Then it is off to space, Starfire escapes from her alien oppressors

Dick still has some trauma from the preview, but finally gets an explanation from Raven - after she makes a dramatic entry.

So Dick gives Bruce some ribbing about him (Dick) being treated like a kid then he drives off in a vehicle straight out of Toys-R-Us.

Robin follows Raven's soul self and ends up with some old friends: Changeling, Wonder Girl and Kid Flash.

Raven leads them to Cyborg - these new Titans are almost complete.

Raven informs them of a problem in the U.N. building and they encounter the same aliens that were pursuing Starfire.

Speaking of Starfire, she is somewhere in New York, weakened from her escape.

Raven appears in the room and so does the aliens and the Titans as well.

The aliens open a portal and the Titans struggle to escape.

The guy who owns the flat is understandably angry.

On second thought, he's too angry. He will be important in the next issue.

Starfire is once again in alien hands.

The Titans decide to rescue her.

Even when wounded, Princess Koriand'r shows what she can do.

In the end, Changeling and Cyborg rig the alien ship to blow.

When this issue hit, the standout was really the incredible art of George Perez. This is the first issue of one of the best comics in the 80s. In my opinion, only the X-Men could match this series.
