Teen Titans 4

That cover strikes me as the kind of cover specifically designed to sell the book. I would certainly find the comic irresistible back in the day if I had encountered it.
We begin with a splash page featuring the Justice League.

Next page the League is being handed their heads by some cool looking wizards.

Raven's backstory - building up since the start of the series - and the catalyst for the Titan's refermation, is finally taking front and center. We come to the Temple of Azarath

Raven appeals to her mother for help against her demonic father Trigon . . .

. . . but is rejected.

Last issue the Titans were handily defeated by the Fearsome Five so Raven is surprise to see them. The illustration is also a standout.

The distressed Raven has a theory.

Back with the Fearsome Five plans are revealed and team dynamics come to a boil.

Dr. Light is uncowed.

I'm definitely with Team Light on this one.
Raven fully explains her backstory to the Titans. Her father, Trigon, an immensely powerful demon is coming and the JLA are inadvertently responsible for that. And now we come to the stupidest line in the whole book.

That just doesn't make sense. But, it will lead to an interesting clash.
I've missed this: the JLA satellite.

The Titans arrive and are initially welcomed.

But then . . .

One of the more spectacular takedowns is Robin taking out GL. Although to be fair I am sure that the JLA is definitely pulling their punches here.

You'll find that in this series Gar likes to change into snakes. Snakes terrify me, one one hand, on the other hand, I know that they just have a bad rap. So I'm conflicted about snakes. This time though, a snake is very effective against Zatanna.

Raven ends the fight in her trademark confusing way and transports the Titans to the place where this issue started.

The JLA manage to follow

So the wizard's are purportedly essential to stopping Trigon; Raven aligns the Titans with them. The JLA believe the wizards are the danger. With that it's round two for Titans vs. Justice League! It's a beautifully drawn fight.

Bottom line is they fail to stop Trigon.

And now, the blame game.

The big reveal, courtesy of Zatanna, is Raven's questionable way of bringing the team together, particularly what she did to Kid Flash. This explains Kid Flash's overreaction whenever Raven is confronted.

This revelation is so big that it breaks up the Titans.
