This book made me chuckle and laugh out loud at certain points, all the time I was in awe of McBain's storytelling.

Here are the main subplots of this book:
- The murder of a nun in park - this is the main mystery
- The burglar known as Cookie Boy has had a lucky streak so far - that ends now.
- Carella is being stalked by his father's killer.
What an enjoyable read; I can't recommend it enough. This book had me breaking out in laughter more than once.
The impression I have of McBain's writing is utter confidence. Here is a master weaving his craft. A really good read.
